Worth knowing

  • The mouse-style infotainment controller is awkward, and the hybrid gives up some trunk space for its battery.

The trim we'd park in our garage

Look for the GS 350 F Sport: it adds adaptive suspension, sport seats and bigger brakes over the regular GS 350; 2017 and later models made automatic braking and adaptive cruise standard.

On the test drive

On a hybrid, ask for a battery health check. Get a pre-purchase inspection and a vehicle history report before you buy.

Safety tech

  • Automatic emergency braking: standard from 2016, optional from 2013.
  • Adaptive cruise control: standard from 2016, optional from 2013.
  • Blind-spot monitoring: standard from 2016.
