Every Ford Fiesta from 2011 to 2019: what each year typically sells for (about $4,000 to $8,500), its crash rating, and whether it's a year to target or skip. The best bets are 2017–2019. Look harder at or skip 2011–2016.

Worth knowing

  • Skip 2011–2016. The automatic transmission shudders and slips, and many needed repeated clutch replacements. A manual avoids the problem.
  • 2011: owner complaints spike (730, mostly the transmission).
  • 2012: owner complaints spike (617, mostly the transmission).
  • 2013: owner complaints spike (667, mostly the transmission).
  • The rear seat and trunk are tiny, and base models are sparsely equipped.

The trim we'd park in our garage

Look for the SE with a manual: it adds alloy wheels and SYNC over the S, and the ST is a gem. Avoid the PowerShift automatic, which has a poor reliability record.

Prices are typical dealer and private asking prices from used listings, collected in September and October 2026, for an average-mileage car. Years with too few listings are estimated from nearby years. Crash ratings, recalls and owner complaint counts come from NHTSA public records.
